President's Greeting,

Greetings and welcome to the official website of the Franklin Tri-County Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Incorporated.

It is my honor and privilege to serve as President of a chapter grounded in sisterhood, scholarship, service, and social action. Since our chartering on December 7, 1985, the Franklin Tri-County Alumnae Chapter has remained committed to advancing the mission and values of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Incorporated throughout the City of Franklin and the counties of Southampton, Isle of Wight, Surry, and Sussex.

Our biennium theme, “Anchored in Fortitude: Embracing Sisterhood, Empowering Communities, Enhancing Impact Through Social Action and Service,” reflects both our foundation and our direction. We are anchored by the courage, vision, and determination of our Founders and strengthened by the dedicated sorors who continue their legacy. Through purposeful sisterhood, innovative programming, strategic partnerships, and committed service, we seek to create meaningful and measurable change in the communities we serve.

Our chapter’s programs are guided by Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Incorporated’s Five-Point Programmatic Thrust: Economic Development, Educational Development, International Awareness and Involvement, Physical and Mental Health, and Political Awareness and Involvement. Through these areas, we will continue to support educational achievement, promote financial empowerment, advocate for social justice, strengthen families, address health disparities, encourage civic participation, and respond to the evolving needs of our communities.

We recognize that our greatest impact is achieved when we work collaboratively. We value our partnerships with schools, businesses, faith-based organizations, government agencies, civic groups, nonprofit organizations, families, and residents throughout our service area. Together, we can expand opportunities, strengthen communities, and ensure that our service produces lasting results.

To our chapter members, thank you for sharing your time, talents, leadership, and commitment. To sorors seeking to reconnect with Delta, we welcome you and invite you to reclaim your place within our sisterhood. To our community partners and visitors, we encourage you to explore our website, learn more about our programs, and join us in service.

As we move forward, the Franklin Tri-County Alumnae Chapter will remain anchored in fortitude, united in sisterhood, and driven by purpose. We look forward to building upon our proud legacy while embracing new opportunities to empower communities and enhance our collective impact.

PROGRAMS

Celebrating Our Work Through Action and Image

As a chapter grounded in service and sisterhood, the Franklin Tri-County Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. stands firmly committed to addressing the pressing issues affecting the Black community. As part of a national organization comprised primarily of college-educated Black women, our chapter confronts these challenges with intention—championing change not only for African Americans, but for all communities we serve. Over the years, we’ve implemented meaningful programs that support education, health, global awareness, and the empowerment of families across our service areas.

Since its founding in 1913, Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. has been recognized as a leader in public service. At the local level, Franklin Tri-County Alumnae Chapter carries that legacy forward through initiatives anchored in the Sorority’s Five-Point Programmatic Thrust: economic development, educational development, international awareness and involvement, physical and mental health, and political awareness and involvement. Through these focus areas, we continue to uplift and impact lives across Franklin, Southampton, Isle of Wight, Surry, and Sussex counties.

Activities in these areas involve Delta members as volunteers in direct services, catalysts for community action, coalition builders, and sources of key information. Our national office supports innovation through seed funding and the sharing of successful models across chapters.
